The Chain has been broken

For as long as I have been listening to music, Lindsey Buckingham has been a part of Fleetwood Mac. Yes, they existed before he and Stevie joined in 1974, but I can't imagine what they will sound like live without him.

Can we just cancel Mondays until further notice?

Lemmy, then David Bowie, and now Glen Frey, and Dale Griffin have all left this realm on a Monday... Their bodies may be gone but their music is immortal.

Night Ranger LIVE

It's a rare treat to get a big name act out in our neck of the woods, and Night Ranger did not disappoint! Starting with "Touch of Madness", it was a high energy, rockin' night! (I prefer to watch the show live instead of through my phone, so I'm sure the full set list can be found on setlist.fm) And, if the night couldn't get any better, they covered not 1 but 2 Damn Yankees songs, "Coming of Age" and "High Enough". On a side note, the music that was playing on the PA after the opening band, Surrender Dorothy, completed their sound check included "Coming of Age" by the Damn Yankees and you could feel the excitement and hope in the air that Night Ranger would play it.

Lots of interaction with the audience, especially those of us in the first few rows! Sadly, the show had to end and the encores were "Sister Christian" and "You Can Still Rock in America". The worst part of the night? (And I do mean the ENTIRE night) Some jerk grabbed the pick that was tossed to me out of my hair!!! But that was quickly remedied when the band saw it and they tossed me a t-shirt *happy dance*

Updated to add the set list:
Touch of Madness
Sing Me Away
Four in the Morning
Coming of Age (Damn Yankees cover)
The Secret of My Success
Sentimental Street
School's Out (Alice Cooper cover)
Crazy Train (Ozzy cover)
High Road
Eddie's Comin' Out Tonight
High Enough (Damn Yankees cover)
Goodbye
When You Close Your Eyes
Don't Tell Me You Love Me/ Highway Star
Encore:
Sister Christian
(You Can Still) Rock in America

25 years young!

25 years ago today, the self-titled debut by the Damn Yankees was unleashed on the world! They quickly became and still are my favorite band. In celebration of this, I'm probably gonna put Uprising in the DVD player...

I'm of the notion if they ever get around to doing a reunion tour (although, between the 4 members, they're in at least 5 bands) they can do so without a new album. I know I'd pay good money for the trip down memory lane! So, if you are a Damn Yankees fan, a) would you go see them on a reunion tour and b) would they need a new album before touring?

For your listening pleasure. Thanks Redbeard!

And this, from Ultimate Classic Rock...

Removed posts, long time no see and assorted randomness

Long time, no see! Life has a way of getting in the way like that!

Had a great day today! This was the first time that I went to work in quite a few years and it feels great! I will only work this job on an as-needed basis, though. As for the other job, I did a follow up call yesterday and they told me they're working on scheduling the next training session, so that's looking positive as well!

I turned on the radio while I was putting stuff away after work (I love saying "after work"!) and a song that I own in every possible form came on the radio and I still had to go turn it up! That's where the randomness in this blog's title comes from as I wonder if I'm the only one to crank up a favorite song whenever it comes on the radio even though I can listen to it anytime I want to... FYI, this was the song I ran to turn up: STYX "Too Much Time On My Hands"
